Becoming an investigator/detective with a Forensic Science degree?
Hey guys, I’m pretty sure I want to become a Forensic Scientist. However, I also like a backup. Would it be possible to become an investigator, or detective with that degree?

Probably not.
You don’t ‘become’ an investigator/detective. You have to first be selected to be a street officer, work the streets 3-10 years, then apply when/if a position comes open in the agency. Then you work crap cases for another 3-5 years before you work anything important.

Yes it is called Forensic Investigator. Does initial investigation for forensics department.
Sure, having a degree is always helpful. You will have to apply and get hired as a street cop first. Then after about 4 years of patrol work you can apply for detectives.
