is it possible to earn your associates of arts degree and then a bachelors of science degree?
i want to be a forensic scientist in the near future and i hear its better to have a criminal justice background before entering the forensic science field. so i’m currently working on my associates of arts majoring in criminal justice and when i go to a university in a year i want to know if, for the 3 or 4 years or so, i’ll be there could i get my bachelors of science too?

I thought one normally gets a Science degree before the forensic science one? Strange. But, your route is still possible.
I am not completely sure what you are asking. For starters an associates degree full-time takes about 2 years to complete. Generally speaking an associates degree is meant to serve as a foundation for a bachelors degree. In today’s society associate degrees do not have much employability potential. Granted you could work in the Criminal Justice field with an associates degree but you will be competing with those who have a bachelors degree. My advice is if you have the grades and SAT / ACT scores to get into a university then you are better off going to university to get your bachelors degree in criminal justice than first getting your associates.
